Updated : May 20, 2026

The media landscape briefly spiraled into chaos recently when breaking alerts claimed that 81-year-old icon Amitabh Bachchan had been rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Widespread speculation suggested the veteran actor was undergoing an emergency angioplasty to treat a blood clot or a blocked artery.

However, the alarming narrative was swiftly dismantled by the megastar himself. Just hours after the reports surfaced, Bachchan made a vibrant appearance at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane for the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) finals. Alongside his son Abhishek Bachchan, he was seen enthusiastically supporting his team, Majhi Mumbai, and sharing a lighthearted conversation with cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

The definitive rebuttal came as he was leaving the venue. When anxious onlookers questioned him about the alarming health updates, the actor simply smiled, waved to indicate he was well, and firmly labeled the reports as "fake news".

Sources later indicated that the hospital visit was nothing more than a routine check-up. For millions of relieved fans, the actor's energetic demeanor successfully laid the baseless rumors to rest.
